My short story "Cherry on a Spoon" was published this morning in the Rake, a magazine I used to read in college, based in Minneapolis, MN. This is my first time being published, so please excuse the blatant self promotion. Really, it is just happiness.

If you ever come out to Ohio next year, you'd better visit. Otherwise, I might descend in a divine wrath upon your place of residence in DC during one of my vacations. And we wouldn't want that. (Mostly because I'm only allowed to descend on a limited number of places in a divine wrath each year. The government thinks it's bad for the separation of church and state if there's too much divine wrath going on.)

We don't know each other but I found your blog on an expat site and I just wanted to say congrats on publishing your first journal. That's awesome. You should be really proud of yourself. I'm a writer too so I know how it feels and it's the jolt of inspiration we need to carry us for a few more months. I'm moving to Buenos Aires next month too with my g/f, and I'm hoping that we can find jobs there. I'll probably teach English, but I'd really like to copyedit, travel write and translate if I could.
